"President Barack Obama linked his economic policies to his Christian faith, saying on Thursday that meeting the nation's challenges requires strong values as much as smart policies.
Obama, making his third appearance as president at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, used his remarks to justify many of his actions, such as his call for the wealthy to pay more in taxes and his health care overhaul. He said they were not only economically sound but also rooted in his Christian values.
Christian values, Christian values!, WTF?

That speech:
"When I talk about making sure insurance companies aren't discriminating against those would are already sick, or making sure that unscrupulous lenders are not taking advantage of the most vulnerable among us. I do so because I genuinely believe that it will make the economy stronger for everybody, but I also do it because I know that far too many neighbors in our country have been hurt and treated unfairly over the last few years. And I believe in God's command to love thy neighbor as thyself."
"When I talk about shared responsibility, it's because I genuinely believe that in a time when many folks are struggling and at a time when we have enormous deficits, it's hard for me to ask seniors on fixed income or young people with student loans or middle class families who can barely pay the bills to shoulder the burden alone. I think to myself, if I'm willing to give something up as somebody who's been extraordinarily blessed and give up some of the tax breaks that I enjoy, I actually think that's going to make economic sense. But for me as a Christian, it also coincides with Jesus' teaching that for 'unto whom much is given, much shall be required.' It mirrors the Islamic belief that those who have been blessed have an obligation to use those blessings to help others or the Jewish doctrine of moderation and consideration for others."
"When I talk about giving every American a fair shot ... it makes economic sense. But part of that belief comes from my faith and the idea that I am my brother's keeper and I am my sister's keeper. As a country, we rise and fall together."
"It is our hope that people of good will can pursue their values and common ground and the common good as best they know how, with respect for each other. And I have to say that sometimes we talk about respect, but we don't act with respect towards each other during the course of these debates"

I guess Jesus would also back the zionist wars against brown skinned people, too. I guess we have to give up our country (the US) and its prosperity to fight a war against Muslims. Praise God!

I don't know how I got on their mailing list. I do not read most of the articles; I can tell by their titles that they're old news and/or bullshit. Example- half the articles have "Iran" and "nukes" in the title. I do not need to read any more fear mongering propoganda on this topic.

Just so you understand, I am skeptical of news in general. It's not like I "believe" left wing shit or right wing shit. Shit is shit.
My reaction to many of the Newsmax articles that arrived in my mailbox was that it was superficial and slanted coverage of last week's, or last year's, news. Deal with it.

Ron Paul and His Bigots
Thursday, 29 Dec 2011 07:34 AM
Ron Paul, the libertarian candidate, is “a real Republican contender in Iowa.” He is also the candidate of the white supremacists, Jew haters, and gay bashers.
Twenty years ago, he published a newsletter with articles that bore no bylines that were, according to the Times, “racist, anti-gay, and anti-Israel.” He now says he didn’t write them and he doesn’t know who did.

That is not what he is saying really. The point is that Obama wants to appeal to everyone. Most politicians who are smart will do the same thing. Governments, media, hell the global Elite as a whole have a neat little control program for most everyone. Different news media appeals and caters to one group of people. Another channel will cater to yet another group. The same goes for religion. Why can't those who follow these mainstream religions see that they are being conned!? Why? The media does not talk against christianity. It promotes it! Look at Faux News! It promotes christianity! Faux News is owned By Rupert Murdoch, a corrupt, rich, and powerful man. His word is law and his lackeys control what is censored and told on that news network. This corrupt man supports christianity! Why? Because it is a bullshit and it can be used to control people. Keep them ignorant of what is truly going on. The events of today have nothing to do with any religion. Yet the news will want to make you believe that it does.
It is frustrating how no one wants to listen. I am beginning to wonder if humanity will always be this way. I can assure you of one thing: I am never reincarnating on this planet again. I am through with it. I am sure that others agree with me. Whatever contract I signed before I entered this body is irrelevant at this point. This planet is never going to change. Call me deluded, insane, delusional, whatever. I do not care. I know what I know and I am tired of hiding it. I will live out the rest of my life, do my damned best to wake up however few that will actually listen, and I will go back to wherever I really came from. I can grow a lot more spiritually somewhere else. Anywhere else. It is to the point where I feel physically ill with all this spiritual garbage floating around. Let the reptilians have this place. No one wants to listen. No one wants to change. No one wants to open their mind and see that humanity is being controlled by beings that are not human at all. The world Elite worships these non human entities who harvest mankind for their own sustenance. Humans are nothing but a resource to them. The god of christianity is such a being. It feeds from your essence as you worship it.

So which is it going to be?

I think Jesus would particularly like Obama's continued efforts to destroy families when any family member is caught growing cannabis.
Isn't this in the New Testament somewhere: "Thou shalt destroy as many familes as thou canst if the familes grow the wrong plants".

Yeah it is.
And for the fifth time now, it's not an either/or decision. Newsmax.com has always favored the republican party. Ron Paul is a Republican
But it's ok, you aren't bothering me by repeatedly asking the same question, providing it's not bothering you if I give you the same answer. :D
Fancy that, a left wing, politically correct, toad, who gets his news form newser.com claiming to be for RP?

I hate to break it to you, but a lot of "democrats" support Ron Paul. Furthermore, not every American votes along party lines.
I am a registered Democrat (Irish Catholic so it's kind of compulsory :D ), but I support Paul and I have never voted along party lines.
Most of the people I know, which includes diverse demographics and ethnicities, support Ron Paul. It is only in slanted, yellow journalism (like Newsmax) that a majority oppose him.
Yet despite this, I seriously doubt that he will ever be elected. I'd bet my house that he will not get nominated. This is how the system works in the US. It is a total fallacy that voters get to choose the candidate.
Rank and file Republicans loathe him.

Yeah, I know that.
Almost no one votes along party lines all the time.
Like I say, Newsmax (regardless of color)traditionally supports Republicans. Ron Paul is Republician. Sure you are going to have in party skirmishes, that doesn't mean opposition.

Now we are getting close to your reasons fro validating it.;)

Calling somebody a "racist bigot" and his supporters "racist bigots" isn't opposition?
Newsmax did a hatchet job on RP and you say "meh"
*snigger*
Yeah whatever you say.
So do I really need to ask which is it gonna be?
I think we all know by now GOP boy.
;)
Cos not coming to RP's defence at such baseless accusations levelled at hima nd his supporters (many of whom are here on DIF) you have as good as stabbed him in the back.
Well done Judas.

Relax. I think you made your choice not to defend Ron Paul or his supporters perfectly clear in your failure to defend them in the face of Newsmax's accusation. The fact that you validated and justified the outlet more than once while failed to do the same for Paul in the other speaks volumes,
So I won't bring it up again...
...until you claim at any time to support Ron Paul.
Then one further clarification of your new position may be required;)

Whatever, knock yourself out!

I did not choose for you to fail to defend Ron Paul from the accusiation of being a "racist bigot" from Newsmax.
You did that. But you can change that today!:)

I am from England and my family goes back hundreds of years across the Northern border and into SW scotland.
How about you? (as if you'd say:rolleyes:)
I'm deciding nothing for you. I';m giving you the chance to condemn the Newsmax article that called Ron Paul and his supportes "racist bigot".
Whether you take it, up to you.
