To eat more healthily, a long while back I started putting raisins in my morning cereal. Physically, it never made me feel very healthy after eating it, my body was telling me it was crap.

So recently, I decided to get some freeze dried mix raspberries, strawberries, blackcurrents etc and they tasted alot better BUT they are very expensive and very hard to find in the shops. Also they can never be as good as FRESH produce.

Anyway, we decided to treat ourselves one day and get FRESH raspberries to have with cereal in the mornings. Do you know what, I feel great, they really feel right to eat. They are expensive but I would recommend them to you. I am prepared to pay extra if it benefits my health.

Also, I was lucky enough to find a massive box of blackberries in Morrisons reduced to just 49p and there was nothing wrong with them AT ALL and they were absolutely beautiful and again I feel great after eating them.

THE GOOD THING IS that we can pick blackberries for FREE in the summer and last summer there were absolutely millions of them growing wild. I have never seen the country bloom so much as last year when all that rain came down. FREE food :)

I personally don't eat cereal or any wheat products due to the feeling of illness i get when i have eaten it, but your post interested me, tell me in what way do you think your body was telling you that this food was crap?

I ask because when one begins to tackle ones health in 99.9% of cases there is a great deal of undoing the years of wrong habits.

For instance in the case of somebody who eats lot's of red meat/white bread/refined carbs etc, and is suffering from high blood pressure/weight problems, this problem could be tackled by diet alone.

Firstly we would hope to immediately stop the consumption of high protein foods which create Uric acid and mucus/toxins in the blood circulation, the years of abuse would create within the patient a great deal of toxic obstruction in the colon area, the bowel, intestines, a great deal of mucus and toxic waste products are stored in our bodies through years of wrong eating, some say 10lbs by the time we reach teenage years! Even the "healthiest" person-if they have undergone unnatural eating habits-will have pounds of mucus clogging up their system!

The diagnosis is unimportant in this instance an overview would be, the patient is in a state of constipation, in an effort to remove blockages the body has begun spasming in the areas to shake off debris, this is entering the bloodstream causing obstruction>high blood pressure, this "illness" is brought on as the body tries to cleanse itself.

To assist the body in cleansing it's piping system the correct fuels must be ingested, suffice to say that fruits fresh are the master cleanser, leafy greens are less potent but would be used in a case as above where fresh fruits may cause to much debris in the bloodstream, after much work had been done with less potent treatment like raw vegetables then fresh and dried fruits would be used.

So when we begin to alter our health for the better we must be patient and persevere for you will feel like giving up and eating shit again, however we must weather the storm to see the sun, and when your body/nature has done it's cleanising, you'll feel like a lamb in spring.

Thanks for replying mickyjaystoned some good advice there I think.

About the symptoms that I had when eating raisins, my stomach would sort of ache like I needed to go to the toilet but not all the time, my body just didnt like raisins and and just felt physically uncomfortable. I must point out that I eat very well, lots of fresh food, and I avoid chemicals in food/drink when I can but it isnt always possible unfortunately :( I exercise very regularly because I believe it's essential to stay physically fit in this society which is geared up to make us unwell.

I CAN eat raisins if I have to and probably WILL now and again but I avoid them because I trust my bodies defence system. But I agree with you that we need to "weather the storm" cos we have been putting such crap into our bodies for so long that when we put "good" food in there, it has a shock and rejects it. I have been keeping physically fit for a very long time now and I have also been eating good stuff for ages but the raisins (and currents) were RELATIVELY new to my diet and I have to say they are NOT really for ME. But the good thing is that the rejection of the raisins led to me eating very good fresh raspberries and blackberries which I recommend to everyone :)

I forgot to mention that I eat the berries and the cereal WITH HONEY (and milk obviously). I know that the milk may be a bad thing and maybe the cereal also but I suppose it's one step at a time, they dont give us much choice really :(. I eat Oatibix as my cereal.

In regards to eating habits you have mentioned two of the worst>eating for breakfast(we should wait a number of hours from waking before eating) and eating solids and liquids at the same time, when we ingest solids our body releases enzymes while we chew, when we then go and drink or eat with a mouthful of milk we dilute these enzymes, that weakens digestion and can increase the obsructions in our intestines etc.

Berries are a wonder food, as you mention above the best are naturally picked, i love brambles etc, these are the natural foods of man, naturally growing fresh fruits herbs and seeds/nuts, full of energy and all the building blocks of life, the ideal diet of man is comprised of these foods, and is a mono-diet, which means not combining foods in one sitting!

cos we have been putting such crap into our bodies for so long that when we put "good" food in there, it has a shock and rejects it

You are partially right, all food has effect after the cause of ingestion whereas meats, wheat, refined etc will produce toxic mucus by-products, fresh herbs, fruits and nuts are easily assimilated into the body mechanics, a friend here has done some great work on this subject, once the body is cleared of obstructions, (these toxic by products from un-natural foods) the most amazing energy can be obtained from the simplest foods, i.e celery, cabbage okra etc.

The body never rejects natural/good food, but the effect of that food may appear to us as such because the good food has a clearing effect, worse before better etc.

My usual routine is that I exercise (which takes an hour or more) and THEN I eat my breakfast so it sounds like I am doing the right thing there.

As for eating liquids with solids, it's all mixed together when I eat my cereal in a sort of a paste. Not sure if that helps the enzymes thing but I prefer to not make eating too complicated. I dont think about vitamins or calories, I just eat a balanced diet and exercise and give my brain and spirit some exercise whilst being on here :)

Goji berries. very nice.

I get mine from here:

http://www.go-goji.co.uk/store/organic-goji-berries-c-1.html?zenid=4185f14d1022807231cd8a24cd50d018

Milk is bad for you unless you drink it raw and unpasteurized. That is just something else :D

The Maca powder helps to give extra energy too, but is not nice to eat. I blend mine with the raw milk.

Good quality Gogi's shouldn't taste nutty. The one's I get taste like berries.
A friend of mine got some cheaper ones from another website. They were VERY dry and flavourless. Not nice at all.

Yes wild black raspberries is one of my favorite parts of summer :) I pick them each year and eat them on the spot, from my own yard, and if I'm walking in the woods somewhere. Also pick fresh apples off our little apple tree. They are so good. I have also picked wild raspberries when I was in Ireland, also amazingly good.

I have also picked wild blackberries, but I prefer wild black raspberries

I forgot to mention, soaking a fruit can decrease it's body cleansing potency, soak your sultanas, raisins and any other fruits which give you trouble for 10-15 minutes and then try them, i used to do this with the goji berries it certainly makes them more palatable.

Yeah, steevo, we live off our own home grown produce 3 or 4 months of the year. We have a golden plum tree that fruits masses of juicy sweet plums. We have a load of wild blackberry bushes along the bottom of our back garden, as well as we grown our own variety of toms, cucumbers, radish, potatoes, onions, runner beans, mushrooms, chives, cress and other herbs. Our kids love growing and harvesting our own stuff. Been putting a vid together with the kids over the past couple of yours. I'll get to finish it and post it this year.

You can not beat fresh fruit in the morning. Just what the body ordered!

That is the one of the best things that you can teach your kids, how to grow their own food. They will learn to appreciate the beauty of fresh produce and ENJOY eating healthy natural food and it will always stay them. I look forward to seeing your vid.

Yes fresh fruit in the morning is bloomin' brilliant :)

Bluberries and gojis are the most nutritional of the berries, followed by all the other berries which are so good for you - especially fresh ones. If you cannot get organic, make sure you wash then REALLY well before eating, as they are one of the most highly sprayed fruits throughout their growing season due to their high susceptibility to insect pests, moulds and fungas.

Berries are high in antioxidants and low in sugar (Low GI). Grapes are not included here, as even though the dark skinned varieties are good for you in modest amounts (the skins mainly),they have a high sugar content.

Kiwifruit are an excellent choice for antioxidants also.

Nibble on them to sustain energy throughout the day ....you can't do much better than that! :)

It would be great if you could post it in the

Try filling an empty bottle of, lets say Vodka, with your berry of choice before filling it back up with, lets say Vodka again.. and giving it a vigorous shake.

Leave it for a couple of weeks before enjoying a treat for all your hard work saving the planet and fighting the nwo, online ;)

I have got a bottle of plums my mother did 30+yrs ago. I am wondering if they would be potent enough to drink? I have never thought of opening them, but have carried them around each house move as a momento. Surely mixed with vodka who'd care.:p

I found this info on Rice Milk :-

Rice milk is usually made from filtered water, brown rice syrup and brown rice starch, with the addition of thickening agents. Since it has no animal content, it is a popular alternative for vegans as well as those who are lactose intolerant.

It is slightly sweeter in taste, but low in fat so it can be used to replace cow's milk in cooking.

If replacing cow's milk with rice milk in the diet, check that it has been fortified with calcium, vitamin D and vitamin A.

It sounds interested but I would not want it "fortified" with ANYTHING

Also, I wonder what the "thickening agents" are ?

morrisons stock it and health food shops i get mine from morrisons provamel brand, i only use half a cup per day in porridge with half a cup of water , drink herbal teas so no need for it .I was told to drink almond milk !(no 80's electro boy refrences please) by a nutritionist acupuncturist i went to as it is not as sweet they sell that in health food shops .Not sure on the additives but as its suitable for vegans as wellas veggies i would think it is ok , soya is probably better to wean off cows milk as it resembles dairy more than rice milk wich is very weak and thin liquid :D
