Many see the Inverted Pentagram as a symbol of Satanism.
It goes well with the goat head, symbol of fertility. The worship of it, instead of the lamb, seen as "perverting the lamb." The Lamb signifying Jesus here and thus the goat signifying Satan.
It could also represent the five "I wills" of Satan. A good counter to the five wounds of Christ.
Sense the upright pentagram represented Christianity as it represented the five wounds of Christ; then if we assume that to invert the symbol is to invert its meaning we see that the Inverted Pentagram represents the values of Christianity turned upside down. It becomes an anit-Christian symbol. Thus, a Satanic Symbol.
The symbol also has many Pagan meanings. Sense Christians are against Pagans; pagan meanings, viewed by Christians, would be anti-Christian. And thus, this would also represent Satanism to Christians for this purpose as well. Though, some Christians see all pentagrams this way because of the Pagan meanings; regardless as to weather or not the symbol is inverted and regardless of the fact that an upright Pentagram used to be used by Christianity as a symbol of their religion. And not all Pagans would appreciate the association of Satanism with Paganism. Though, to me, Satanism could be described as Paganism with a darker outer shell and an anti-Christian vibe.
All other associations and meanings seem to be in tact irrelevant as to whether the symbol is pointing up or down; aside from one.
People that see Satanism as evil continue to insist that the Pagan meaning of the symbol becomes a symbol of evil because it is said to represent the physical above the Spirit. When we see an upright Pentagram it places the Spirit at the person's head at the top of the Pentagram and the physical elements at each of the person's limbs. While these associations are not diminished with inverting the Pentagram, some argue that this now represents the physical having power over the Spiritual; and thus people being subject to their “carnal desires” and enslaved by the physical world.
Does putting Metal, Earth, Water, and Fire above Wood change the Chinese associations with the Pentagram into something anti-human and evil because wood is now on the bottom? No, the elements interrelate just the same. As do Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, and Spirit; even when Spirit is on the bottom.
So why does this symbol become supposedly anti-human now? Because it is turning humanity upside down? Perhaps humanity is not being symbolized here. Perhaps the human body is. So by placing the human body upright we are symbolizing seeing the body as most important wherein by placing the body upside down we are seeing the body not as most important; thus the Spirit becomes most important. (Regardless that it is now on the bottom sense the association with the other elements are the same. It is attached to the head to show the Spirit controlling the mind and brain through the crown Chakra. Thus to represent the body not being everything, it makes sense that when we turn the body upside down the Spirit is still connected to the head this way.)
Thus the association of the Pentagram with the human body is maintained. Flipping the human body is not being anti-human. Rather, as a symbol of Spirituality, it is saying that humanity is not everything and that Spirituality is more than just humanity; while obviously it is still related with humanity.
