View Full Version : Chewing Gum Without Aspartame/Splenda

AJ said a few months ago that all chewing gum now has Aspartame in it. And I've checked this myself at the grocery stores. They all have it, even the newest gum, Stride, with its cute condom like packaging.
What is a good alternative to highly commercialized chewing gum. Maybe something I can buy at a health food store?
I also read that Zylitol is good and gums that have this are the good ones.

Here's a link:
There are several other brands out there as well.
I've never seen these in-store before; you can purchase them online though.

Found this old DI thread on Aspartame in gum:
And ... said that Zylitol is sugar made from corn....Glucose Fructose (with mercury) anybody? I think I'll pass.
Someone else in the old thread also questioned whether Zylitol is really harmless or not:

My favourite gum: BUBBLE YUM still does not have this crap in it! (I hope they dont ever put this shit in it)

Hubba Bubba, which is what I was chewing until recently...has Aspartame. Stride, which my co-worker gave me a sample and then I started to buy my own ... has it.
I wonder about Chicklets, if you can still buy those. Dad used to buy that 40 years ago.

Thanks for the aspartame link, will deffo take a look after.
Since September, I use to have 1 - 2 packs of chewing gum a day, maybe more. I was dependant on it, probably as with most people on keeping your breath fresh and on how chewing makes you feel. I'm surprised I wasn't getting any serious health issues, with all the crap that they have in their, which I don't understand why half of it is in their at all, taste disappears after like what, 2 -5 minutes?!
I'm glad I broke the habit. I found out that eating raw vegan (transitioning) and brushing your tongue really helps, (still need a good tooth paste <,<).
I buy this one from the organic shop:
The taste doesn't last long though, but it seems to be a 100% natural, organic and biodegradable chewinggum, as mentioned on this website.
And it tastes like that :D

Haha, really? That sucks! I know where you're coming from though, my mom is kinda the same way. They accept the ideas of others so willingly without any justification or logical proof etc, and disregard their children's, because we are their children. Just wondering are you second or third born? :O
Goodluck in trying to help her realise, though, you're never to far from support and information at the Icke forums :D!

I used to chew orbit or extra, for same reasons everyone does, to keep bad breath at bay. Or hubba bubba for bubbles.
Since I found out about aspartame 6 years ago I haven't chewed any gum, suppose my breath must be bad now, but I'd rather have bad breathe than be poisoned.
6 years ago wrigleys double mint didn't have aspartame in, but in these last 6 years a lot of things which didn't used to, now does. Check double mint as that always had loads of sugar in, so really shouldn't need any sweetner..
Sorry just found it does..
Sugar, Gum Base, Glucose Syrup, Dextrose, Natural and Artificial Flavours, Glycerin, Soy Lecithin, Acesulfame-Potassium (4.4 mg)Aspartame (4.4 mg/Stick)
Just hav to be like me and have bad breath. muwahahahaha.
