first of all, just let me say thank god al franken's gone. he's morphed into this, um, creature!

i got this xm radio for christmas 2005. i drive about 10-15 hours a week in my business (you do the math on hours logged). the damn dial is so hard to read when you're driving, i just leave it on two stations: xm comedy (uncut) and air america.

my biggest observation about air america is that it's preaching to the choir. the listeners are going on and on, blah blah blah, mired in a quagmire of problems, of fear of bush, mock outrage, a subtle intolerance and built in bias that the very thing that's caused the "problems" (the feds) is the very thing that will "solve" them. war on poverty, war on drugs, war on terror. shades of lbj, deal making at its finest.

well meaning, but entirely missing the point. especially about bush. the words i most frequently hear are "i'm stunned", "i don't understand", "it's shocking". cluck cluck. bush is proceeding exactly as planned; he's been programmed for failure since birth.

i'm sure most of you know that according to burke's peerage, john kerry was not only a member of skull and bones, like bush, but also in the bloodline, like bush. imo, kerry was like a boxer taking a dive in the 5th. all the callers sounded bewildered, something like "he's so much smarter than bush; i can't understand why he won't fight back about the swift boat veteran smeer campaign". he didn't fight back because he wasn't supposed to.

but everyone at aa refuses to connect the dots. the closest anyone comes on a given day is randi rhodes. she truly is a radio goddess. she means well, she's passionate, well-informed. sometimes she seems just on the edge of "making the jump to light speed" lol  i actually heard the words "reptilian" and "bush" come out of her mouth in the same sentence. i just about spilled a cup of hot coffee in my lap! the fascinating things was i could tell by her continuing a rant that she wasn't even aware of the significance of what she had just said. i guess her belief in the power of the american constitution and the goodness of the american people are strong enough that she can't see it. oh well, in time all things ripen...we'll see...personally i hope she's right. that would be the easiest way, i'm thinkin', yep.. i 'spect she's right...umm....you wanna go get a beer, cletus? :D

the worst is eco talk. they've created a daily 3 hour radio show about "green". don't get me wrong, but they're using global warming as their poster child, a marketing centerpiece that shines like a prom queen with vaseline on her teeth.

they had an interview with a prim-sounding woman from a university in san francisco. they were talking about royal dutch shell becoming a "green company". she hemmed, and tut-ted like a professor should, then managed to mumble, "well, yes, shell is an intersting case....hup...hup..."

i just turned off the radio. i wish i had been the interviewer; my follow up question would have been: what about shell's abysmal record in niger? it's unbelievably absurd to think that a person with 24 years of education, an expert in the field, was unaware that within the last 8 weeks, articles had been published in vanity fair and national geographic (yea, i know, i know, but i had to look at the pictures, not to turn away from the devastation of life and hope. quite honestly, it looked like a scene from hell. shell allows the oil to continue to leak, poisoning the water supply of thousands of people, and this woman is mumbling. niger is a powder keg of retribution, much worse than iraq with respect to controlling the oil flow. it would be the mother of all guerilla wars, i expect. many of the rebels believe in a war god, wearing amulets and red sashes. they ride out 20 miles in speedboats and overrun oil rigs. they believe they are deathless. they make al qaeda look like episcopalians! lol :D

i'm not the first person to flag "carbon tax". it's already starting to become a family activity on the internet; set up your "free" account and play along. shell plays, we pay. horseshit.

"brute force cybernetics: we create a need, then fill it"-- webn radio, cincinnati, oh, circa 1974

Good post thanks tru

Yes this global warming thing is starting to give me the shits! The hypocrisy coming thick and fast from the high-level 'low-lifes' overwhelms me some days. The masses are being so sytematically programmed by the repeaters and their over-worked mantras (thanks very bloody much puppet-man Al Gore!), the program has gained a lot of momentum recently ....and its all doing my head in!

....she says as she steps outside into the fresh air to 'breathe through it' .....knowing this too will pass!

Air America = Left gatekeeping crap? :) Simply put. I think that is one of the stations on Sirius.
