Hi i was posting in the sylphs section of this forum, and doing so has reminded me of an encounter i had with shadow folk a few years ago, and i was wondering if anybody else here has seen these very curious creatures.

p.s i mean curious as in they are curious about us (but they are curious too) i will stop saying curious now.

I was sitting upstairs in the pub that my parents ran at the time, just chilling out in front of the telly with our dog at my feet, when all of a sudden both me and the dog looked up at the door that lead out into the hallway and i saw something standing in the doorway looking in at me, the thing looked startled when i looked up as if it wasn't expecting to be seen, and it did that kind of step back that we all do when something unexpected happens.
Before I continue i will describe the creature, it was very definitely a male shape with a very muscular build and very solid looking , but and here is the shadow part it was completely black in colour and not just black clothes i mean completely devoid of any detail that i could make out (as if somebody had cut a man shape into the air and all you could see was an inky black depth with no features catching the light at all, but still a very solid figure very clear but just no detail) now on with the encounter.

Seeing the startled response i challenged it by saying in a loud voice "who's there" because i assumed it was somebody from the pub downstairs and sometimes people lose their way and wander into the living area, my dog at this point started to bark and that's when the creature shot off down the hallway at an incredible speed i was about 4 feet from the door and our hallway was about 25 feet long, but this creature was so fast that by the time i got to the door he was gone. I then became very scared as i had replayed the incident in my head and realised that there was no way that he could have been in shadow because every light on the landing and in the living room was on.
ok that's it but i would also like to say that both I and my dog reacted at the same time to being observed, and also that i did not feel it was malevolent just that it was watching me and hadn't expected me to see it.

years later all this happened about 16 years ago by the way, i happened to be in a chat room about spooks and i mentioned my encounter, and this is where for me it got very interesting "oh yes" said the room op "shadow folk" "my god" said I, I then asked more about it and he told me they were called shadow folk (they are also called piksies) i was astounded because i honestly didn't know they were known about.
And so I went onto the shadow folk website and told my story there, and now i'm telling you.

That is eerily similar to an experience I had as a child. I was walking down a hall and this figure was blocking my way. It was the shape of a man wearing a hat but was black and featureless. I have never forgotten the feeling of dread that came over me. i stood there with my feet glued to the floor and eyes tight shut. Eventually I convinced my feet to move and keeping my eyes shut, continued walking. When I looked back there was no sign of this 'thing' so It either left or I walked right through it :eek:

And no it wasn't the curtains or lights playing tricks on me.

Animals are quite amazing. We lived in a house in which one room was always several degrees colder than the rest of the house. My dog would not go near it but used to stand at the end of the hall growling and sometimes the hair on the back of his neck would be standing on end.

the fellow you met was very bad news indeed, i have read about this guy before in my search for shadow folk info (my stepfather has also seen him but not in the same place as i saw mine) he is sometimes referred to as old man trouble in fairy tales, he is sometimes seen emerging from shadows and scaring the shit out of people, this guy has a very real sense of "don't fuck with me " and i have read that to impede him is a very VERY bad idea but nobody has tested that...yet. big brimmed hat right? kinda like the undertakers. One mean hombre by all accounts.

It was a looong time ago and I don't think that expression would have entered my head then :D but yes I guess that was the feeling, definately terrified me. Evil personified.....shudders

Got a couple short ones here at this house. They hang out between the kitchen and the dinning room. I suspect from recent deaths in our group of family and friends.

Usually, they come accompanied by poltergeist and some weird noises, voices and sounds.

If they scare ya, throw a light at 'em.. Vanish right quick that way.

i don't believe them to be ghosts myself, but then again i haven't got a clue what they are so anythings possible.
And no they don't scare me now i am much bigger and uglier than when i first met one, now i stride about certain in the knowledge that there is nothing in the dark that's scarier than me:D

i posted on this way back amongst my forst few posts , but cant access beyond last 500 for some reason anyway lydia78 had similar experiences as well .My first encounter was as a child i heard music a amrching band wich was unusual for the area i lived in it turned out to be the orange lodge order marching .Now they dress in period costumes for the march well the head of the parade does the baton twirler and it is king william stlye !7th century? ish frock coat tricorn hat very johnny depp pirates type outift .Anyway being a child i ran 2 see what hte music was all about and watched the band march past at the head was the baton guy they where marching past a gap i nthe houses so lit from behind and appeared dark looking .I noticed the lead guy and then he seemed to go in slow motion as i watched the baton fly high and him catch it and turn throwing it again , now this might of seemed magical to a small child hence the slow motion , but he turned slowly and looked right at me and here s the thing He was jet black not just the clothing but his features everything was like oil liquid blackness and he grinned at me despite having no featres i knew he was grinning , i ahd never know such malevolant feelings it took me a while to run but i did straight home but couldnt convey what i had seen.I never forgot that person .years later when i was married and living i na different area where the orange lodge marched regularly coincidentaly i saw this figure again on numerous occasions , only this time it was during meditations or during waking from afternoon sleep or returning very quickly to my body only this time he work a 1930's style suit and trilby type hat , but stil lthe same head lowered grin from ear to ear and a sense of recognition from him to me as well .!:eek:Thanks to the shadow site link

Its a very strange phenomena isn't it, I have talked to a few people who like us have had these experiences, and the consensus seems to be this...We haven't got a fucking clue what it is.

anyways the shadow folk, yes, I've observed them some, very interesting beings they are, and as noted by Octopusrex, accompanied by poltergeist activity. my experience with them was in proximity in fact to certain other phenomena which I posted of in what appears to have been taken as a nuisance to the thread (sorry). along with orbs both white and black. I think ....someone.... opened some kind of rift that brought in all sorts of things.

I don't know if this is on topic, but in most of my lucid dreams paralyzed or not there are these shadow people/demons. I've experienced 3 different ones so far. The one I've had the most times is like a fox, he hides, then suddenly attacks me, I feel an adolecent energy of him. He will take the shape of my boyfriend in my lucid dream, fooling me into thinking I'm awake, so that he can get a hug or something of me, then when I realize I'm still sleeping and that he's not my boyfriend, he attacks. Once he was hiding behind me when I was lying on my side, suddenly grabbed my neck and I could feel an intense prickling on my back, I told it to go to hell and I woke up. Realized eventually that the clue of this one was to just have personal power and tell it to fuck off. It hasn't showed up again because I'm not afraid of it. I've also once experienced sort of dreaming that I was lying on the sofa in my living room, watching som strange eerie vids on the computer, then getting an intense pain in my back, thought I was lying on top of something so I started fidgeting, but the pain got worse and worse, that's was when I realized I was dreaming, I quickly turned around and I saw this shadow figure, I got angry and put my hand through it, it got very scared and flew off very quickly, this one was the shadow of a young child, a boy.

Now, I thought it was all over with these lucid dreams with these shadow people/vampires, haven't had it for ages. Well, yesterday night I experienced a new one. I woke up paralyzed, and there was this very evil feeling, pain throughout my body, it was like this evil was trying to take over my body! Felt it first in my stomach and it moved up to my heart, I tried my best to resist and tried to move my body, I "woke up", I asked my boyfriend next to me if he noticed that I had a nightmare, he said yes, he said I was talking to myself in another language and that I crawled on top of him and started putting my fingers in his mouth, he demonstrated this by putting his fingers in my mouth, making me nauscious, I "woke up" again, this time this thing was on top of me, holding me down and holding my arms, it was very strong and heavy, I noticed that this thing wasn't afraid of me at all! It would not listen to my fuck offs... It was biting my armpit, very painful. I realized this was a grownup very powerful demon. I surrendered, knowing that if I die, consciousness can never die. I finally woke up for real, and looked up and for 5 seconds I saw this face of a devil hovering above me.

Crazy I know, hehe.

The first time i saw these were a few months ago.I was asleep and got this urge to wake up and look to the right and there it was a shapeless shadows moving about which then disappeared into the walls.The next time was similar,woke up turned round to look behind me this time and there was absolutely enormous shadow of a spider crawling up the wall and then then starting moving onto the ceiling so i switched the light on seeing as it didnt seem to disappear.The other time i saw it ws agin a shapeless shadow but this one was small which then disappeared into the carpet i think. I also had an obe where i saw them,1st time it was a pretty big shadow like an outline of an person but larger which was pushing me back down because i tried to switch the light on,it did these everytime i got up about 7,8 times and then i finally got the strenghth to get up reak fast and switch it on and as soon as that happened i woke up.2nd time i was probably lucid dreaming,all i remember is the shadow and it doing something with my arm,because when i woke up all i felt was my right arm aching.

I've had countless dreams of zombies and vampires in my life. Usually, I just tear into them like Rambo in the dream, ripping them with my bare hands or an axe or club. Usually there's so many they end up overpowering me.

But one time, I had a vivi dream of a reddish demon. Different from my usual adversaries. This one came out of a pentagram that I myself had drawn on an apartment in San Fransisco I used to have.

I was with some other folks in the dream, but nobody wanted to take the fight to the demon, so I volunteered to go down into the pentagram room.

Sure enough, it had turned into a kind of hole, bottomless. The creature saw me coming and decided it didn't want a fight, so I took the fight to it. I crawled into the hole and I was..

Well.. in hell.

I got a hold of it's tail. It had a tail.. And we started to bite and rip each other with our claws. I guess I had claws in the dream, didn't I?

Well.. we started falling and finally I was at the bottom where I was strapped to this ... dentist-chair in some ship with huge domed windows and these weird kinda long-necked bug-eyed dudes who came in and out of various doors. And they were making all kinds of tests.. I realized they had put me through the whole demon episode to test my agresivity level...

Woke up after that.

Then, last night, I had another dream.. This time I was in some city in the US where I've never been to. And there was a school bus full of armed insurgents and they were just ripping into a crowd with submachine guns. They were not aiming for civilians though. They were shooting cops and other suits.

Weird, because it played into another dream thread here about "war dreams".

YES!!! They absolutely feed off of fear and I have had numerous encounters with them and sometimes I get the impression at they are spying. Play some music softly at night. Another weird thing is seeing them ireflections and the eyes of others around you, like baies eyes when they stare at the ceiling. Like someone else said, there is a spider likeness to some of them, and this reminds me of what Cathy O'Brien stated in Trance Formation of America, a creature that Kissinger "created" back in the 1950s.

Oh, yes and they are great imposters in dreams, huh? In lucid dreams however, I can usually turn into something greater with thought and beat up the bully, you know? I had a creature that was frightening children once in a dream and I took care of it for them, basically fought it and scared it off. It got the message. :D

p.s I think that there may be some specialist websites that haven't yet explored this tangent of the shadow folk, but give it time.

A house that I lived in as a kid had a heap of weird activity in it. I was about 10 and I used to see a white shape and a brown shape either floating past my bedroom door up and down the hallway, or on occasions standing at the end of my bed. My brother saw them too and we used to call them "the white thing" and "the brown thing". It wasn't till years later when I learned about the KKK and saw the hoods and robes that they wear that I realised that's what the white thing and the brown thing had been wearing: the robe with the hood and just holes cut out for eyes. I don't think they'd fall into the category of "shadow people", but I'm still curious as to what they were ... bearing in mind I'm in Australia and not in the US.

Well the 'white thing' you describe seems to be a classical-bed sheet-wearing ghost :D
But more serious - in South-East european folklore they have these female creatures, that haunt certain places! The story goes that if you built a house, at a place haunted by these creatures (who come at night), then they would come into the house, start dancing..., and make you ill!
Now here is the point - they are described as wearing nothing, but 'white', and you couldn't even see their heads. However you would see their 'long loose hair'!

As far as the 'hat shadow', there is definitely something here too. I've heard of these 'shadow aparitions', with what looks like a hat. I think these 'guys' are inter-dimentional traveller, who like sucking energy. It is the way they 'appear' and 'disappear'! I think David Icke mentions them too :rolleyes:

Yeah! It's the way they appear and disappear - as if they'd been watching you, just before you saw them!

YES!!! They absolutely feed off of fear and I have had numerous encounters with them and sometimes I get the impression at they are spying.

I think Shadows and Watchers are refered to, in several occult teacings, like the masonic for instance. But never looked into that in detail

There are many theories about what these things are, from strong electric fields disrupting our brains to spies using stealth tech, the only thing i know is that the one i saw did not feel to me like he a was malicious entity just that it was curious, and while some people may claim to have them pegged I don't think as yet that anybody has given a definitive answer on this.

i have noticed people on this forum sometimes like to give the impression that they know exactly what the situation is with a lot of this stuff but i am not convinced.

Ive had a few shadow being experiences, I awoke to both of em so I dont know if it was a state between asleep and awake or what.

I use to sleep in my living room, facing a window in the kitchen, on 3-4 occasions Id awake and see a solid black (darkness black) 'being' outside the window, just standing there, swaying a little, it didnt look like a human because had absolutely no facial features. Anyway it never frightened me, but when Id think about it later it made me very comfortable. I have that window covered by a sheet now and don't sleep in that arrangement anymore.

The female creatures that wear nothing but white and you can see their long loose hair is very interesting, but that's definitely not what I used to see. The things I saw were definitely male energies and I swear they looked like guys wearing KKK outfits right down to the pointed hood kind of thing with eye holes cut out. *Shrugs* Just one of those unexplained things I guess.

yep good old shadow ppl...the ones iv seen had red eyes..if u get to ares p2p search for art bell shadow people there is a radio broadcast on them. The ones i had were very scary-entered my dreams, set of my fire alarm (as i stepped under it-which scared the shit out of me) pulled me half way out of my body and spun me around and around in my room, and seemed to constantly try to push me out of my body-which wasn't a pleasant feeling...

I was sitting upstairs in the pub that my parents ran at the time, just chilling out in front of the telly with our dog at my feet, when all of a sudden both me and the dog looked up at the door that lead out into the hallway and i saw something standing in the doorway looking in at me, the thing looked startled when i looked up as if it wasn't expecting to be seen, and it did that kind of step back that we all do when something unexpected happens.
Before I continue i will describe the creature, it was very definitely a male shape with a very muscular build and very solid looking , but and here is the shadow part it was completely black in colour and not just black clothes i mean completely devoid of any detail that i could make out (as if somebody had cut a man shape into the air and all you could see was an inky black depth with no features catching the light at all, but still a very solid figure very clear but just no detail) now on with the encounter.

Seeing the startled response i challenged it by saying in a loud voice "who's there" because i assumed it was somebody from the pub downstairs and sometimes people lose their way and wander into the living area, my dog at this point started to bark and that's when the creature shot off down the hallway at an incredible speed i was about 4 feet from the door and our hallway was about 25 feet long, but this creature was so fast that by the time i got to the door he was gone. I then became very scared as i had replayed the incident in my head and realised that there was no way that he could have been in shadow because every light on the landing and in the living room was on.
ok that's it but i would also like to say that both I and my dog reacted at the same time to being observed, and also that i did not feel it was malevolent just that it was watching me and hadn't expected me to see it.

years later all this happened about 16 years ago by the way, i happened to be in a chat room about spooks and i mentioned my encounter, and this is where for me it got very interesting "oh yes" said the room op "shadow folk" "my god" said I, I then asked more about it and he told me they were called shadow folk (they are also called piksies) i was astounded because i honestly didn't know they were known about.
And so I went onto the shadow folk website and told my story there, and now i'm telling you.

Ok I'll start with the shadow people.

I've seen a few of the before but the one that most stood out was before Xmas '07 and I was in the living room and as I looked down the hall which was dark but had a light on in the corner and I saw it out of the corner of my eye. It had, like you said, a muscular build and was partially around the corner but not fully. It didn't have the pointed hat like some people have claimed but it still looked creepy. I'm not sure if their the same things that walk around my room at night because just about every night I can hear footsteps and that the carpet sounds like its being pushed down.

As for being paralyzed, it actually happened this morning! Last night I could feel the usual "getting pulled out of my body" feeling and when I immediately switched the light on nothing was there. But when I went back to sleep and woke up at 6am I couldn't move, or make any sounds for that matter. I knew that it always wears off after about 5-10 seconds so I just went back to sleep and later I was fine.

There is a radio chat show in the US called "Coast to Coast AM" and they do many interviews with people about ghosts, NWO, UFOs and aliens (mainly) etc. Anyway here is a link to the one I listened to and I certainly found it interesting.

ive had a number times where i carnt move or call out and i was very scard. the worse one was when i was living with my sister in her house. i went out night clubbing and got back in around 4 in the morning i got in bed and i was just staring to driffed off to sleep when i could not move or shout and 4 black blobs were standing around my bed. They then started pulling me off the bed and i could feel them grab me and my leg was hanging over the bed where they were pulling me. I was shouting at them with my mind to let me go. then they let go and went. my heart was beating that fast i was gasping to breath. I will never forget that night and i never stayed in that room again infact i moved out. The last time i could not move i felt like i was being pulled into another dimention but i fought it with my mind and pulled my self out of it and from that day i have never had it happn to me scince. That was about 8 years ago Its as if they dont bother anymore because they no i no how to get away. I always felt drained after.
