Has anyone been to Mexico, primarily Chitchen Itza and the 'Mayan' ruins?

I went earlier in the month and I was amazed. I have read all about them before but seeing them in the flesh was quite breathtaking. As David had described of many ancient ruins there were serpents running through EVERYTHING, it was so unnerving to see actual evidence of it.
Our guide was telling us all about the destruction of the Mayan history and the legends of gifted people visiting, and this was a local tour guide!

Honestly, it was amazing! :o

Sorry just wanted to share this with everyone!

Blame the Spanish for ruining the best civilization in the whole world!

...except for Egypt maybe.. or India.. Wait.. what about Tibbet? Don't the Innuit have a say on this..?

... awwww screw it.. blame the Catholics!

i've seen some pre-aztec ruins in mexico. they were amazing. it was an ancient city in ixlan del rio (carlos castenada wrote about ixlan). only about a dozen building remains were unearthed and there were several nearby mounds which was the rest of the city.

i've also seen three pyramids in a row which i never would have noticed if my mexican friend hadn't pointed them out. they looked like mountains, they were totally grown over with grass and trees. most mexicans in that area don't even know those mountains are pyramids.

the state of 'nayarit' was where all this was... i had asked about ruins for years before i found any nearby. everyone kept saying i had to go east or south, that there weren't any ruins in nayarit. it turned out there were ruins there, they were just older than most of the popular ruins, and harder to find.

so mayan history was destroyed by the spanish? figures. i was naive in thinking mayan history was intact.

something interesting is that very old ruins and tombs have recently been and are being unearthed. i think the ancients are ready to share some information with us.

yeah it was the europeans alright but i cant recall exactly what the group was called , but regardless of there name they were sent through all of the aztec an mayan civilisations destroying and confiscating al of there ancient tabletures and scripts only 2 of the original scripts remain in mexico, an the rest are in the
POPE's house!! in sealed glass display's .
i read a guys eye witnesss tatement who was taken on a personal tour through the popes courters he explains seeing very old looking tebletures and script's inased in glass and also his bath was made of solid gold with galactic style pattern made of jems around the edges ..bit weird i thought ..
it amazes me how many pyramid loving/erecting civilisations there has been throughout our history and its definatly not all coincidental ,
i watched a doco that was explaining alot about how modern architecture with skyscrapers and massive land marks are still all relative to to the pyramids of the ancient world , in a way how they are designed to emphisize great power and level of heirachy ...
makes a bit of sense when ya think of it like that huh
peace :)

A new pyramid has recently been discovered in Mexico City. The article (link posted below) states that this city may be 100 years older than first thought.

I thought this would be a good thread to post this.

WHY YOU SLAP ME LIKE THAT DUDE?

What did I ever do to YOUR weed?

Only average thing about Mexican is...

1. The availability of good buds.
2. Variety of taste and flavor.
3. Low Price.
