Many of you may be familiar with this unbelievably fucked up church (Westboro Baptist) in Topeka, Kansas. At the moment my browser can't access their sites for some reason, although I've previously perused them extensively.
What I would like to know, is whether or not this is just a church of seemingly crazy zealot sickos, or something else. I've watched all of their videos, and most, if not all (I can't remember now), of them feature the presenter smirking at the end of them. If they were just a website, I would definitely consider it a parody. But they are a real church and have active protestors out and about pissing everyone off, and (and this is the clincher for me) they involve their children, who obviously would not be able to appreciate any sort of sarcasm on this level.
Are these people under mind control or something? They are actually very intelligent people, and only under extreme circumstances would I label someone clinically insane, let alone the hundred or so people of the congregation.
