We posted this a few months ago and got a fairly muted response from the David Icke forum initially, but maybe you guys were just too shy to express your views directly to us, because we subsequently discovered that it had inspired long threads on at least 2 other forums! Due to ‘musical differences’ within The Cult of Penn I decided to close the website down shortly after the posting, but I’ve since had a number of people contact me about the song and how they can get to hear it etc. So here it is again …

Only David Icke Can Save the World (specially extended, digitally remastered Coventry City FC mix) By The Cult of Penn
(http://www.cultofpenn.co.uk/)
Let us have your feedback please - preferably on THIS forum.

The feedback we have had up to now (including the postings on other forums) has been fantastic, ranging from ‘an amazing track’ to ‘it made me throw up!’
Others said:
“It’s a T.Rex rip off!” (like that one, thanks!) ,
“ I thought I’d heard everything until I head this!”
“The best musical tribute to David Icke that I’ve heard this year!” (The Urban Dandy)
And :
“Every now and then (more often now than then) I just gotta come on your page and listen to ‘David Icke‘, to get the cheesiest grin on my face ever. This song rocks!!!” (DNAJ) Proof that the track is a grower, so give it a few plays!

But the best quote has to be from DNAJ : “Hey! I kept singing "Only David Icke Can Save the World" in my head yesterday, and had a dream last night that the song was number one in the UK!!!......strange, but very very true!! :) peace”

True, not everyone likes it, some hate it with a passion, but that’s great, we are not doing it to flatter our egos - it’s just a bit of a laugh for us and hopefully spreading the message of Icke at the same time.

There's some other Icke-related material on the site to, for your enjoyment.

Let’s rock!

I can't be assed to install Quicktime just to hear it, I'm afraid.

Thanks

Sorry man, technology's not my strong point. But try this link and you should be able to hear it on our Myspace page (which we hardly ever use)

Hope it works!
Peace, love and rock n roll!

Thanks for the feedback man, but I'm afraid the flute stays. I stuck it on just for a laugh, because the song is very tongue in cheek (in case anybody hadn't noticed!), and people initially think 'what the fuck is that?', but, trust me, it grows on you and that's what actually makes the track unique.

It would be nice to know what the boy Icke actually thinks of it. Come on Dave - give it a play and give us your feedback!;)

Not sure if that was exactly a tribute. "Tongue in cheek," eh?

Rock on...

yeah, I'm unsure as to whether it was a "tribute" or not :S
