What are peoples opinion on the colour order that Chakras are often represented by? What is the correct order? Is the colour symobolic, actual or what?

The word Chakras is pronounced "Chu" as in Church. Which comes from Circe as Jordan Maxwell so eloquently tells us. Circe was a spider goddess who hypnotised people and turned them into animals which she fed off. Maybe these chakras are a created fantasy by a form of church and you are all watching and dreaming of the pretty colours. I bet you don't actually know whether they are or not if you asked yourself honestly.

I think that colors represents the rotation frequency of each chakra.

Now that's a kind of sacred artwork that I have a lot of time for.
Very beautiful.
I've loved this energy system and worked with it ever since I heared it explained by Ram Daas on a tape someone gave me.
As far as I know for lineage (which is always good to know);
I think that chakra comes from an an old sandscrit word meaning 'wheel'
The seven chacra system with kundalini comes from a Natha tradition tantric called Goraknath about 1000 years ago.
Tantra comes from a rejection of the caste system in favour of freedom.
Goraknath's school of tantra resembles the gnostics in that when they achieve enlightenemnt, they are free to re write the maps of the cosmos.
Right hand path was orthodoxy, and left hand path was freedom. The British dislike of tantrics during the raj led to left hand path becoming a term for Satanism.
This is one of the tantric maps which has stood the test of time, and I think it's popular because it works well for people who feel that power and divine energy come from within.
I'd love to find that Ram Daas recording online somewhere.

No fantasy, they are quite real.

Same as a Rainbow :)
From Base to Crown : Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet
And yes I think serpentoffire is correct about the frequencies.
beautiful video ,The chakra system has 7 chakra's each lotus has an increasing number of petals adding up to 1440 , i posted on this ages ago but cant find the link now anyway it is related to the number 144,000as the sign of god writtten in the foreheads of those who ascend .If we take the colours of the chakras as the rainbow colours and then see the purpose of the chakras as spinning wheels each as it spins faster would become white light just as we percieve light here .So adding up the number of chakra petals to 1440 for example would imply that if we can align them and get them to kick in we can vibrate at a state that is white light and access our lightbodies / vehicles and become so much more .So we are waves and particles at the same time its just a matter of finding the on switch .Incidentaly it tkaes 8 minutes for light from the sun to reach earth so there we have the infinity symbol of the hologram for this dimension :D

Wow, that's a very interesting post 2013, thanks for that :)
I can't wait for the time we are all able to reach those levels & access our light bodies, it would be phenomenal!!
I found the vids to be an amazing tool to help visualise the relevant colours of the chakras & had an astounding meditation shortly after watching them, which is hard to put into words, but left me feeling so energised afterwards & really spacey, like my body wasn't heavy & physical anymore. It was brilliant & I must try it more often....:D
The first time i started meditating daily i was doing chakra visualisation that was about 13 years ago now must get back into daily routine .i used to visualise each chakra as a spinning disc slowly one after the other in time the colours became clearer and brighter less muddy looking i suppose as i cleansed them ? anyway then i started to visualise the chakra's as 3 dimensional balls of colour and then becoming bigger with time, it really does power you up .So im going to take my own advice and go and do some now ! thanks again for the thread and re awakening me must disable that snooze button :D

But is there a reason why we are drawn to certain colors...more than others? I posted on another thread.....but purple is my absolute favorite ....I love, love, love it!

Me too. My bedroom is all purples as are a lot of my clothes.
eta: LOL even my sig (we'll it's more pink but the default purple was too dull for my liking)
I love reds too, especially those that are blue-based, hence my hair haha (although it looks a lot orangier red in a lot of the pics as they've been manipulated).

Slashdot It! Stumble It! - + The power of healing: damaged rubber repairs itself
French chemists on Wednesday announced they had created rubber that heals itself after it has been cut, a breakthrough that could lead to clothes that self-mend if torn and toys that repair themselves if damaged by a tot.
The molecular concoction -- described by other scientists as having "a touch of magic about it" -- can self-heal at room temperature in around 15 minutes by simply pressing the damaged pieces together, they report in the British weekly science journal Nature.
Conventional rubber typically comprises long, cross-linked chains of polymers that can stretch and then recover to their original size and shape.
The new formula made by a team at France's National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and a private firm, Arkema, achieves the same elasticity by using a mixture of two different kinds of smaller molecules.
Some are ditopic, which means they can hook up with two other molecules, and others are tritopic, meaning they can associate with three molecules.
The network is meshed together by weaker hydrogen bonds, which get broken when the rubber is cut but also provide an atomic "glue," recombining into chains to bridge severed parts.
The ingredients comprise fatty acids made from ordinary vegetable oils, combined in a stepped process with diethyline triamine and urea, both cheap and common chemicals.
The result is a substance that at eight degrees Celsius (46 degrees Fahrenheit) becomes a translucent glassy plastic that, like soft rubber, can be strained five times its length before breaking.
Unlike rubber, though, the pieces can be mended at room temperature (20 C, 68 F) without the need for them to be heated or even pressed together strongly. And the substance can be easily reprocessed.
"If you drill into a rubber sealing in a wall, the hole will repair by itself," said lead researcher Ludwik Leibler, of the CNRS' Soft Matter and Chemistry Laboratory.
"Anything involved with compression, such as joints and rubberised coatings, can be fixed. The fracture and healing process can be repeated many times."
Arkema and CNRS have already worked on other "self-healing" materials, including paint that smooths itself out if scratched, Arkema researcher Manuel Hidalgo said.
The first products from that research should be on the market "in a year or two," he told AFP.
In a commentary also published by Nature, synthetic materials scientists Justin Mynar and Takuzo Aida noted that when the Spanish conquistadores first witnessed the Aztecs playing a game with a bouncing rubber ball, they thought such balls must be possessed by evil spirits.
"Imagine their reaction if, on cutting the ball in half, it was made as good as new simply by pressing the two halves together," they write.
"Even today, such a feat would have a touch of magic about it. But this is what (has been) achieved."

Haha well 'moved on' there enlightenme, thanks ;)
It seems purple is a favourite colour for lots of people (I know quite a few who like it a lot). It's not that big for me personally, I do like it but I also like a range of colours depending on what sort of mood I'm in really, although saying that green has always been a favourite of mine for quite a few years now, but then again I like blue too, so who knows, lol!:D
Thanks for the info, is it possible for you to share the other colours too please if it's not too much hassle?:)
EDIT: Haha syncro, just got One Republic playing in the background & he sang "red & blue" as I hit the submit button, lol!:-)

this is all i could find so far...:)
Red
If your natural choice is the colour red, you are the outgoing type. You not only act on impulse, but you are prone to abrupt mood swings. You have a lot of compassion for fellow human beings and can be easily persuaded. Though you have an optimistic approach to life, you don't hesitate to grumble and complain as well. Your spontaneous nature is assertive, you freely voice your opinions. You have a strong sex drive and are likely to end up having extra-marital affairs, unless your strong sense of duty restrains you from indulging in wild fantasies.
Orange
The choice of this colour shows that you are basically good-natured and loyal. You are sociable but at the same time you tend to be swayed by the opinions of other people. You are a generous soul, sincere at heart. Your gestures are friendly, and inspired by goodwill. More often than not, you are overtaken by feelings of wanton elation.
Yellow
If you have preference for yellow, it shows that you have a vivid imagination and lots of nervous energy. Your thoughts are clear and well organised. You do harbour a need to help the world, but you won't get the dirt under your fingernails doing that. Deep down you are a shy person and a loner; perhaps that's what makes you a reliable friend. You may not show it, but you would actually love to be respected and admired for your prudence.
Green
Preference for the colour green shows that you are a dutiful citizen. You are not only aware but also sensitive to social customs, and bear a good name in your community. Your choice also indicates your honesty and straightforwardness. You have a normal sex drive and are very emotionally attached to your family. You have the potential to be an excellent teacher.
Blue
If your personal colour is blue, you are introspective and purposeful by nature. You hold conservative beliefs and under stressful conditions, prefer to withdraw into gentler surroundings. You seem to have a lot of control over your passions and desires, but are sensitive to the needs and feelings of others, nonetheless. You are a loyal friend and would prefer to lead a sober life.
Purple
If your choice is purple, then you are intelligent and quick-witted. You have a keen eye for detail, things which are normally overlooked by people. You are infuriated at the slightest provocation. You tend to be extremely effusive in your expressions of grief. You are a creative person and an egotist of sorts. You seem to possess a cultivated taste for the subtle in life, while recognizing the magnificent.
Brown
A personal choice of the colour brown implies that you are meticulous when it comes to work, thrifty when it comes to money, and adamant in your beliefs. You are a very reliable and composed person, not impulsive at all. You can rival a seasoned horse trader in your talent for striking the best bargain.

Thanks for sharing that, it's interesting & something that I might look a bit deeper into when I have some time....:)

I've noticed a few people on this thread saying their favourite colour is purple. My favourite colour has always been purple, but I was told years ago when I was a teenager that they'd done a survey in psychiatric wards and apparently the favourite colour of the majority of patients was ...... (drum roll) ...... purple!!! So I was told that maybe that meant I should be careful, as in I might be bound for the psych ward because I loved purple! :)

Those were pretty sweet videos.
For some reason when I saw the heart chakra one, and the woman was talking about it, I started crying. Don't ask me why that part made me cry lol. Other than that I just thought it was cool.

My fave color is purple also. This is apparently what it means.
Personality Traits: Inspirational leaders, kindly and just, humanitarians, self-sacrifing, visionary, creative, and strong mentally.
The Crown Chakra is governed by the violet energy.
Others also say it means your sexually frustrated! You decide :D
Hey! My fav. color is green! What does that mean? Altho I also love green and purple together too, but really, if i had to choose just 1 color it would be green.

Do you also like fuschia? That's another favorite of mine. I can't help it, I am always drawn to these colors.
