'They exist' - uncontacted Indians spotted from the air

Isolated Indians on the Las Piedras river in Peru, seen from the air in 2007.
Twenty-one uncontacted Indians have been spotted from the air during a flight over one of the most remote parts of the Peruvian rainforest. Their territory is currently being targeted by illegal loggers.
The Indians were spotted on the shores of the Las Piedras river in Peru’s south-eastern Amazon. They left their shelters on the beach to watch the plane, chartered by Peru’s Environment Agency, fly overhead. During the plane’s second pass, one of the Indian women, carrying arrows and accompanied by a small boy, gestured aggressively, whilst the rest of the group sought refuge in the undergrowth.
‘This is the most recent recorded sighting of them,’ stated Peru’s national Indian organisation, AIDESEP. ‘The uncontacted tribes exist. If we don’t act now, tomorrow could be too late.’
In total, there are an estimated 15 uncontacted tribes in Peru and all of them are under severe threat, mainly from logging and oil exploration. Because of their isolation, they do not have immunity to outsiders’ diseases and any form of contact can be fatal for them.
The sighting comes after the chairman of Perupetro, Peru’s state oil company, stated that it was ‘absurd to say there are uncontacted peoples when no one has seen them’, while another Perupetro spokesperson compared the tribes to the Loch Ness monster.
Survival’s director Stephen Corry said today, ‘What further proof is needed of the uncontacted tribes’ existence? There they are for all the world to see – Peru’s most vulnerable citizens whose government now needs to do its duty by them. It is time for their rights to their land to be recognised and respected, for oil and gas exploration to be banned from their territories, and for all loggers and other outsiders to be removed.’

Peru’s state oil company, stated that it was ‘absurd to say there are uncontacted peoples when no one has seen them’
I get his point but does anyone else think that this is the dumbest remark they have ever heard? (particularly in the context of this article)
I think it's amazing that these peoples are living as they have for many generations and I envy their freedom but, I am deeply happy for them.

I wonder whether there is any way they can protect themselves against our 'shitty' diseases.....if they are going to be contacted?
I would just love to know what they know.......I bet they know stuff that could maybe shed knew light on ancient history, legends, etc.

If that would be so simple, gorgeousbutterfly.
I learned few things in my life sofar. "Never give up!" Don't run away and make a stand for your ideologies.
To make a stand does not necessarily mean to fight for them, To shed blood. Ghandi fought for his... by not fighting. :)

The pictures of the Island seem to give off something special/ magical about the area, don't you think?

I fear for them. Imagine the shock of discovering that there's a huge world out there beyond your own little homeland. They've known nothing but a small bit of jungle and their own tribe and suddenly they're introduced to a world of 6 billion poeple in places they couldn't imagine living a lifestyle beyond their woldest dreams and nightmares. They must have been terrified by the visit of whoever took these photographs. Imagine if you saw a helicopter for the first time! Also if the people on board were white men then perhaps the Indians would wonder if they were human at all and not some strange fairy being! Just imagine you saw someone of a different race to yourself for the first time!
What will they make of our world? Will they survive psychologically? These people must be protected!

I think that they should be generally left alone.
They could maybe send out a couple of people to communicate with them, but only if there are measures that can be taken to protect them from foreign illnesses 100%, and I don't know whether this is possible. :(
It would be great to learn about their culture, but respect for these people is the first and No 1 priority.
Love and Peace to them, Bless them.

I personally think they should be left alone completely.
Wouldn't it be great though to be a fly on the wall in a hundred years from now, to see what they made of that helicopter taking the photographs?

With the world we live in today, I think that they should definitely be left alone and hope to God they manage to stay safe from any curious sightseers. It's not just the disease problem, it's the psychological shock they would experience encountering a culture that is so different from their own, and on such a huge scale.
Maybe in a few years when we've built a better world we could go out to them and make contact. Exchanging ideas in a free, non-intimidating way. So long as we respect their culture and up hold their rights to it then contact with the rest of the world will not harm them.

I imagine it scared the sweet, dry living crap out of them! They may well have interpreted it as a demon from a bad Ayahuasca trip. I doubt if they would have guessed that it's just a machine, a vehicle carrying other humans just like them.

Would it be fascinating to see if any parrallels could be drawn between their reaction and subsequent history and our own?

Yes, like when ancient people saw UFO's. The Vedas and the Book of Eziekiel in the bible for instance.

As far as these Indians are concerned, we're like the aliens in Independance Day! They've lived their whole life in the woods, completely cut off from the outside world. They don't even know we exist, and then suddenbly a helicopter flies over and people with pale skins and weird clothes ogle at them! Shock is not the word!

Anyway , what is with you guys and your "system" ? I mean seriously "if system woulnt mess with us we would be spiritually free" dont we ? And we could do what ever we wanted ? Quess what , these people are relatively free , but they aint flying around like superheroes or something. So fuck the "mind over matter" and all that shit.If it was real , we would surely find cases of 500 or more years older people here on earth!

Not necessarily. Just because they've lived cut off from the rest of humanity doesn't mean that they're not connected to us subconsciously, through the collective mind. They're going to be influenced by the freeze vibration whether they meet the rest of us or not.

I agree. We need to keep the loggers out of their country, but the rest of should stay away too. They should be left well alone for the time being. The world is not ready to deal with these people. If they were contacted now they'd be sucked up by society and spat out in little pieces!

Sorry on rain on you parade guys, but there is nothing that guarantees that they would be more spiritual than spiritual civilized people. They might as well have set up a little mini new world order where everyone has to obey the chief and the law may be very strict. In fact if you are a follower of Buddhist teaching suffering is the path which forces us to realize the illusion. In that perspective or western world might provide us with a much faster spiritual realization than living in the rainforest would. Cool though that they are untouched by western filth.

There's no guarentee that they will be more spiritual, no. Tribal people fight wars and stuff too. But from what I've seen about indiginous cultures, they're likely to be more spiritual than we are!

Agree!, they live closer to nature and are untainted by systematic materialization so they are probably more spiritual then western culture in general but probably less spiritual than the population of this forum in general. My main point being that you don’t need to live in a rainforest to be spiritual contrary here where the madness is more obvious is a better place to break free.

Yes. Those huts are traditional Amazon dwellings, rarely seen these days.
God! What the hell did they think when they saw the plane!?
I remember when I was an 8-year-old kid and I moved to Oxford from a village in west Wales. I saw a black man for probably the first time and really embarrassed him by staring at him.:o You can imagine what those Indians would say when they saw a white person for the first time! Something probably along the lines of: "Do you paint your whole bady that pale colour or just your face and hands?"

And it's worth bearing in mind that although they've lived their whole lives in a small area of virgin forest and know nothing of the world outside it, at a higher level they are still part of this Earth's humanity and what goes on it will reach them subconsciously, as it does us all. This is why they won't be able to levitate and manifest solid objects out of thin air etc.

I'm going to invoke Pan and Eris to sabotage every oil and logging intrest that comes within 500 miles of this river bank.
That should help to hold the bad guys up (and hit them in the pocket) whilst the awakening eats away at their positions to destroy such things.
