Where I live, there is a slew of mysterious sightings of weird creatures and UFOs, that have circulated for many many years.

The Bunnyman is just that, a man with apparent bunny ears, clad in odd and ragged clothes. He is a hermit who resides in a nearby forest and lives in a tiny hut. He is rumored to prey on children. He is believed to have murdered a young girl who was found stabbed to death in the same forest. Bunnyman was seen by both local adults and children, and once made a strange appearance during recess at an elementary school in the area in the 1980s.

Goatman is seen as a man with a goat's head, and he has been sighted in a 100 mile radius from diffrent people. Often in rural areas. He is rumored as killing livestock and other animals.

Sounds like the "were-rabbit" from Wallace and Grommit!:D

I'm not taking the piss though. I take these stories seriously.

Harvey the 6 foot pookah animal spirit from the film of the same name starring james stewart , pookahs are irish spirit s or shapeshifters !
PĂșca - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
According to legend, the phooka is an adroit shape changer, capable of assuming a variety of terrifying forms. It may appear as a horse, rabbit, goat goblin or dog. No matter what form the phooka takes, its fur is almost always dark. (its name is a cognate of the early Irish 'poc', 'a male goat', and it lends its name to Puck, the goat-footed satyr made famous in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream), but it most commonly takes the form of a sleek black horse with a flowing mane and glowing yellow eyes. One of my favourite paintings, http://www.johnwilliamwaterhouse.com/paintings/default.aspx?pid=1399
http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/9661/64oh9.jpg funny how we are distracted by reflections instead of looking within and constant chatter fills our minds .
The theme of the bunnymen it would seems is as old as the greeks and before ,all archetypes :D
'Sweet Echo, sweetest nymph, that liv'st unseen
Within thy airy shell
By slow Meander's margent green,
And in the violet-embroidered vale
Where the lovelorn nightingale
Nightly to thee her sad song mourneth well:
Canst thou not tell me of a gentle pair
That likest thy Narcissus are?'
John Milton (1608-1674), 'Comus'

Punished by a goddess for her constant chatter, Echo was confined to repeating the words of others. Enamoured of Narcissus, the son of the river god Cephisus and the nymph Liriope, she tried to win his love using fragments of his own speech but he spurned her attentions. Passing by a stream, the beautiful youth caught a glimpse of his reflection is a stream and became transfixed by the lovely image. Believing it to be the form of a nymph, he vainly courted the watery mirage and wasted away through unrequited love. He was transformed into the flower that bears his name and Echo pined away until nothing but her voice remained.

Psychopathic men dressed in costume is likely. There is such a thing as lycanthropy, a name of a mental disorder/sickness where someone believes themselves to be an animal and also they have a tendency to kill people, sometimes animals.

Pan maybe?

Pan is the name of a benevolent pagan god of fertility. Only those brainwashed by Xtianity believed Pan was evil.

Link - In general, a link is something that holds or binds things together. Most likely another reference to computer technology. In computer terminology, a "link" may be a reciprocal link, a hyperlink, a data link, or a hard link, among others. Also refers to Link from the Legend of Zelda series, emphasized by the name of his wife, Zee, short for Zelda.
