Come on now:rolleyes: the apathetic british public surely must slam dunk this shit. Bliar and co. must be laughing their asses off:p

X-ray cameras could be installed on lampposts on British streets to spot armed terrorists and other criminals, it has been claimed. According to a leaked memo seen by The Sun, "detection of weapons and explosives will become easier" if the scheme drawn up by Home Office officials is adopted.
However, officials acknowledged it would be highly controversial as the cameras can "see" through clothing.
"The social acceptability of routine intrusive detection measures and the operational
(Advertisement)
response required in the event of an alarm are likely to be limiting factors," the memo warned.
"Privacy is an issue because the machines see through clothing."
The Sun said the memo, dated January 17, was drawn up by the Home Office for the Prime Minister's working group on security crime and justice.
It noted some technologies used for airport security had already been used in police operations searching for drugs and weapons in nightclubs.
"These and other could be developed for a much more widespread use in public places," it said.
"Street furniture could routinely house detection systems that would indicate the likely presence of a gun, for example."
A Home Office spokeswoman said: "We don't comment on leaked documents".

But security expert Bob Ayers, of Chatham House, believes putting an X-ray lens on a lamppost poses all sorts of resource questions.
"Some guy walks past and his picture is beamed back to a control room to say that something is under his jacket. What do you do? Despatch a police car to hunt him down and frisk him?
"The real question is not whether the technology can see something under the clothing. It's how you respond to it when the technology says there's something unusual.
"Do you have police strolling down each street, ready to ask people what they have under their jacket?"
Professor Paul Wilkinson, a terrorism expert, is also doubtful. There would be a huge installation and maintenance cost, he says, plus the risk of antagonising ordinary citizens.
"The practicalities of these things working, if sufficient light, is in no doubt. The questions are when is this a useful addition to security and when does it become unduly intrusive and worrying to the public?"
What works for airline security, where passengers expect thorough checks, would not necessarily be tolerated when walking down the street, he adds.

The thing is - they've already got all manner of shit on us every day anyways - face recognition, number plate readers etc I even saw something once where they could recognise someone with the gait of their walk or somesuch.
Thing is - they could bring this in (or maybe they already have) and we wouldn't be any the wiser truth be told ..
But - all the little sheeple out their wouldn't mind anyway - as long as they are all safe on a day to day basis and Tony and His Cronies tuck them into bed everynight then they'll let them get away with murder - which is quite ironic considering Tony and His Cronies already have numerous times ...
the sheople will resist it and thats when they will come out with the compromise plan and then the sheople will compromise on it.

Do you think they have technology that enables people to tell the difference between muscle and fat beneath clothes?
Because a lot of people say I am fat, but as soon as I rip my shirt off they go "omg its Bruce Willis, just short"
After I get beaten up by tall men (im talking 5 foot 8 plus) I always think to myself "If there was a way these people could see my muscles beneath this jumper my mum knitted me to keep me warm they wouldnt want to fight me"
Picture it for a second, then get back to me. In a non gay way
u should take off your cloths permantly and slap on thick layer of animal fat for insulation.

I was going through Heathrow last year and was asked to submit to one
of the new scanners.. being the nosy bugger I am, I asked to see the
console.. and was greeted with a series of 3D naked pics of me....
Now.. being the handsome, virile, firm bodied bloke I am, it was quite
amusing.....
But I could have a twinge of sympathy for the operators looking at
obese, out of shape bodies all day...
Yuk - I would demand counseling and a pay rise :)

the govt will create the conditions where people are begging for it, another angle, what about privacy, what about the nonces that work for ther govt spying, hey? if i had kids and knew the govt was spying on them, i would give reflective clothing of some sort, fuck those cameras up, with a big up yours printed on it lol. but you know what, if anyone protests against the invasion of privacy, they will say what have you hide.
also people expect privacy/freedom for themselves but deny others this fundamental right, closet fascists, or fascists in denial. as orwell said some animals are more equal than others, pigs/sheep same thing. they are going to ban smoking soon, i hope they ban drinking (prohibition), its the same class of drug, then see the sheep wake up.

Well, at least the Brits are not totally uninformed like Americans..
Ya'll have many redeeming qualities.
Here in the US they are getting set to re-institute mandatorty service (aka the DRAFT) for all PERSONS age 18-42..
Interesting i do not recall signing a contract with these f*cktarts saying that i consent to being ruled by them.
Just because i was born on a piece of land that they think is under their demesne, they now think they have the right to OWN me...
I Think Not.
My usual response to the federal plutocracy is
BITE ME, BABY!
BTW
I would like to point out as i continue to do that
Government IS in actuality A RELIGION.

I have kids and thats a good idea in the chance that this will happen, any official who protests and wants to see underneath a child's clothes, well you know what the people will think of that.
The double negative "if you have nothing to hide" is wearing a bit thin now and more people are seeing through it as they know we do have something to hide and its called our privacy which is the obvious answer.
When people say if you have nothing to hide ask them if they are willing to have CCT cameras in their houses and bedrooms and microphones in the work place as after all you have nothing to hide right, oh you do have something to hide then your privacy.
When people are reminded that you have hundreds of times more chance of being killed by bugs in dirty hospitals and being killed by a car than a terrorsist and see through the way terrorism is used to remove basic freedoms they may think again, especially the middle aged and older generation who remember the scores of soldier deaths to "so called" bring us freedom in the first place only to be given up by scaremongering politicians and many see this as giving into terrorism, if you remove our freedoms you are letting them win and have an effect, while in the past we never caved in to terrorism.

i have received a PM from johnpeters (mod) warning me about my language on this thread, well more than likely the title of my thread. Now didn't icke write a piece in one of his books, about how swear words mean nothing, unless we ourselves put meaning to them, or simply judge those words on the basis of how society has been conditioned to react to them when used, as some kinda mad mojo.
I dunno, who was offended?. pray tell.. It's starting to feel like kindergarden, and yeah know, i'm not out to destroy this forum, i'd like it to flourish, but yeah know hmmmmm...
I can't believe this is the official icke forum. It kinda goes against the grain of what he preaches:eek:

Thank you for the link, it reminds me of that film with Arnold Schwartzeneger where he is running through some kind of airport and goes through an xray machine.
