You are the Buddha
By Adyashanti

Starting right now, this moment, I am asking you to become the Buddha. I am asking you to take your stand, to stand absolutely firm in your intention to awaken to the Truth of your Self.

This is what the Buddha did. He didn’t say, “I’ll try.” He didn’t say, “I hope I’ll find the Truth.” He didn’t say, “I’ll do my best.” He didn’t say, “If not in this lifetime, then maybe next lifetime.” He came to the point where he didn’t look for anyone else to tell him the Truth or show him the Truth. He came to the point where he took it all on himself. He sat alone under the Bodhi Tree and vowed never to give up until the Truth be realized.

The power of this very simple, yet unshakable intention and absolute stand to be liberated in this lifetime propelled him to awaken to the simple fact that he and all beings are liberated—that all beings are freedom itself. Pure awakeness.

The Buddha was no different from you. No different. That is why he serves as a good model, because he was as you are now. So don’t worship the Buddha. Don’t put him on a pedestal. Don’t even look up to him. Become him. Have the same intentions, take the same stand. Be the Buddha now! Put an end to all delaying, to all excuses, to all bowing down to saintly figures of the past or present. Stand up!
You are the Buddha! You are freedom itself! Stop dreaming your dream! Stop pretending that you are in bondage—stop telling yourself that lie! Stop pretending to be someone, or something! You are no one, you are no-thing! You are not this body or this mind. This body and mind exist within who and what you are. You are pure consciousness, already free, awake, and liberated. Stand up and walk out of your dream. I am here to say that you can do this.

Step out of the dream of your concepts and ideas. Step out of the dream of what you imagine enlightenment to be. Step out of the dream of who you think you are. Step out of the dream of everything you have ever known. Step out of your dream of being a deluded person. Stop telling yourself those lies and dreaming those dreams. Step out of all of that. You can do it. Nothing is holding you back. There are no requirements and no prerequisites to awaken. There is nothing to be done, nothing to think, nowhere to go.

Just stop all dreaming. Stop all doing. Stop all excuses. Just stop and be still. Effortlessly be still. Grace will do the rest.

At each and every moment from here on out, have the intention to directly experience Truth, your true liberated Self. Don’t think about the Truth—directly return to your experience here, now, moment to moment. Experience Truth. Experience your Self. Dive into your experience. Your experience! Your experience of hearing, of seeing, of tasting, of breathing, of your heart beating, of your feet touching the floor, of the birds, of the wind.

Experience the vastness of who you are. Experience the freedom of who you are. You are the Buddha—experience that. You are the Buddha.

We are all Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama was the fonder of Buddhism and the first recoded Buddha but among non Buddhists the word Buddha has cum to mean ‘The Buddha’ not its true meaning of one who has realised ore returned to the truth. And sins their is only truth and we are part of everything we are already Buddha’s just sort of sleeping Buddha’s on a path fro many life times to wake up to the true nature of reality.:):):)

Imagine a state of mind where you are free. Noone tells you what you should and should not do. You just ARE . totaly and fully awake and aware. It is easy if you try. The most wonderful thing is that we do not need a buddah to enlighen us . We are so free and filled with spirituality . Just being what we are.

I CHOOSE TO BE FREE. I AM ME AND I AM FREE

Kill The Buddha!

Your over all spiritual topics ichi! why? is it because you know deep down there is something more to life? and your bored with you current reality with everything that repeats time and time again?

You scorn truth, yet you know no truth at your current level of being.
I think you havn't the courage to discover the truth and lies that hide within you.

If you are so happy with your life, then why is it your on this site?
Because it deffinatly isn't to help other seekers of truth is it. Your whole mind at current is deluded and that way it will stay. I'd take your banner off the bottom of every message you send too because that message also shows how silly and deluded you are.

The true knowers of truth just laugh at you, yet they judge you not, but to laugh at you puts little dents in your ego and you feel hurt. The truth takes all those dents away and if you stand as nothing, nothing can effect you.

Buddha bless you all

is this "awakening" by "doing" (through the "doing" of that which can't be done, "nothing" ,because it already IS)....akin to digestion, which just IS as well.

Hi mariag. To be awake which I doubt very much you are, no offence intended, first you have to know that in fact you are asleep!! but then you protest and say well I'm reading this, so I must be awake. No!!

To be awake brings joys far greater than anything you have ever experienced.
Are you conscious, ask yourself, and then describe how you are conscious?

Spiritualality is a practice one spends many hours at every day, not just a random thought carried out this day or that day. If you new your true spiritual nature you would discover exactly how un spiritual you are right now.

Meditation is the only key out of this suffering. It's the holy grail to your true nature.

If you ever meet the Buddha on the way kill him.

This is a zen way of saying something of immense value. It is a zen saying: "If you meet the Buddha on the way, kill him!" But Buddha is dead, has been dead for twenty-five centuries. Where can you meet him, on what way? And how can you...can you kill one who has been dead for twenty-five centuries?

It has a totally different meaning: it is a message to the disciple who loves Buddha, who loves Buddha so much that there is a possibility that Buddha may become his last barrier - because of his love, because he is a disciple, because he is a sannyasin, because he meditates, goes deeper and deeper into his being and will feel more and more grateful towards Buddha. And at the last moment even the master has to be left behind...at the last moment. At the very last you have to say good-bye to the master too. This is something inner, remember, it has nothing to do with the outer. This is something inner. All thoughts disapper, then only one thought remains - the thought of your master.:)
