We meet so many people, but there are a few who touch our lives in ways that others do not. One such wonderful lady in my life was Yeva Gladwin.
 
She helped me so much in my early years of awakening, amid enormous ridicule, to understand what was happening to me. Her contribution to my life and what I do cannot be overstated. There are givers and there are me, me, me, takers. Yeva was a giver, an incredible soul who, once known, was never forgotten.
 
We travelled together for years as I talked to rooms full of empty chairs. 'What's it all about Yeve?', I would say.'What's the point in going on?' But Yeva helped to keep me going when all seemed lost. 'You are going to do it', she would say, 'You are going to do it'.

This extraordinary woman has now returned to the realms of Consciousness after a long illness and, sad as I am that she is no longer 'with us', I am so glad that she is free.
 
I saw her for the last time a few days ago in a nursing home in Hove, near Brighton. They said her mind had gone, but we had a long in-depth chat about the nature of reality. Her mind had not 'gone' at all.
 
In the middle of our conversation a patronising doctor appeared to do an 'assessment'. When he left, clipboard in hand, I came back in the room. I said 'What was he like?'
 
'Fucking idiot', she replied. 
 
Yeva, I'll miss you so much, but I am so pleased you are home and thanks for everything. I'll see you when I'm done, just a few things to sort out here first.
