South America on the brink of war
'South America was on the brink of war yesterday as Venezuela and Ecuador amassed troops on the Colombian border in response to the killing of a Marxist rebel leader.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez threatened to join the rebels in a war to overthrow hard-line Colombian President Alvaro Uribe, a key ally of the United States, deploying tanks, fighter jets and thousands of troops along the Colombian border.
Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa also ordered troops to the border, expelled Colombia's ambassador and recalled its ambassador to Bogota, but left its embassy open. Venezuela closed its embassy in Colombia and ordered all diplomats home.'

Neighbours cut ties with Colombia
'Ecuador has cut diplomatic ties with Colombia in a deepening crisis over a cross-border raid by Colombian troops.
Venezuela also said it was expelling all Colombian diplomats in the wake of the raid, which killed senior Farc rebel Raul Reyes and 16 others.
Venezuela and Ecuador have deployed troops to their borders amid calls for restraint led by the head of the UN.'

To understand what is happening in Colombia it should be known that its government is owned by the United States' elite families operating via the US government. They control the Colombian drug cartels, which were created by the CIA to improve efficiency and organisation for the Illuminati-controlled global drug networks.
Some of the major conduits for this control of Colombia are US corporations like Kellogg Brown and Root, or KBR, a subsidiary of Halliburton, which is fundamentally connected to Vice President Dick Cheney.
Once again the question is: who benefits from what is happening in South America, especially as it relates to one of the prime targets of the Bush government, President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela?
