Hope of solving some of Mercury’s mysteries

'NASA’s Messenger Spacecraft is currently flying by Mercury and scientists hope to answer some of their questions about this understudied planet. One of these questions is how is it possible for Mercury to have such a strong magnetic field. The field is similar to that of the Earth’s, only smaller, yet Mercury should not have one at all. The answer to this can be found by examining totally new and maverick theories in science as outlined in Punk Science (see Primer) This states that Mercury creates its own field from a dynamic process similar to that found in a black hole and not from the movement of an iron core, as is the current orthodox theory of planetary magnetic fields.'
