UK Fuel Crisis Renews as Union Rejects Deal

'The prospect of a fuel strike by tanker drivers which would cripple UK fuel supplies has reemerged after drivers rejected a proposed deal to avert strike action.
Some 60 officials from Unite the union overwhelmingly rejected an agreement settled after six days of talks between the union and representatives of six fuel distribution firms.
Diana Holland, assistant general secretary of Unite, stressed that the union was asking for "guarantees and assurances" for its members. Saying, “While there has been some progress it is clear that our members need more guarantees and assurances from the employers about their commitment to meaningful minimum standards."'
