'“Yeah, I support [former Massachusetts] Gov. Romney for president of the United States. He is going to be the nominee,” McConnell told reporters at the Capitol on Tuesday.

“If you’ll notice, the party is in the process of unifying behind him. I think it’s going to be an incredibly close, hard-fought race,” McConnell added.

McConnell’s official endorsement came hours after another top Republican leader, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), announced he would back Romney in the Republican presidential primaries.'
